Celebrating 100
Years of Impact

For 100 years, you’ve amplified our work to provide what’s needed, where it’s needed. Help us shape a future full of promise for all.

Help Us Shape the Future

We’ve served our community for 100 years—and we’re doing it better every day. We want to ensure everyone can experience the future they want on their terms. The United For Our Futures campaign will amplify this goal by building on our track record of making lasting, meaningful change in the lives of our neighbors.

Deeper investment in strategic initiatives that drive our racial, economic, and social equity work will ensure that opportunities are more equitable and accessible for everybody who calls this region home. We are investing beyond ourselves. We’re investing in tomorrow’s opportunities.

The 100th Anniversary Campaign has three fundraising priorities. You can direct your gift to a single fund or spread your donation across multiple funds.

Bridging the Gap: Support after the Key Bridge Collapse

The impact of the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse will go well beyond immediate needs. A gift to the Bridging the Gap Fund ensures both mid- and long-term support.

Endowment: A Bedrock Foundation

Each year, the United Way Board allocates up to five percent of the endowment balance to augment and support United Way programs that would not otherwise be fully funded through our ongoing fundraising efforts. Without this endowment support, many vital programs that improve lives and neighborhoods could be curtailed or eliminated.

Equity: Opportunity for All

Advancing equity is a fundamental goal of our mission. Across housing, health, education, and employment, longstanding inequities have disproportionately affected people of color. Our programs strengthen and improves the health and well-being of people and neighborhoods that have been historically marginalized.

Innovation: Never Rest

Translating bold ideas into practical solutions and evolving our work to meet the changing needs of our region is what we do. And it can impact generations of residents. Developing new, innovative solutions to the ongoing and emerging challenges facing our community will always remain central to our work. The Innovation Fund will expand our capacity to kickstart bold new initiatives today and in the years to come.

Unrestricted: Trust and Togetherness

Gifts made to the Unrestricted fund will be designated to the Endowment, Equity, or Innovation fund at the discretion of the Executive Management Team.

“We’ve chosen to make a $1 million planned gift to United Way of Central Maryland because we believe that United Way has the leadership, the drive, and the tenacity to help Greater Baltimore realize the best version of itself. Our family believes that of those to whom much is given, much is required.”

— Freeman & Jackie Hrabowski

“We believe United Way of Central Maryland makes a critical impact in our community. A few years ago, we made a significant gift to the endowment to help power its mission in the future. And now to celebrate the 100th anniversary, we have made—and hope others will join us in making—a gift to help drive United Way’s mission for the next 100 years.”
